200 YEARS OF FRANKENSTEIN

The second half of our annual programme of talks will start not on the third Friday in September but on the second Friday – the 14th.

This year is the bicentenary of two important events one cultural the other political: namely the publication of Mary Shelley’s novel which gave the world Frankenstein and the partial emancipation of women in Britain. On 14th September member Graham
Bremer will talk on 200 years of Frankenstein and on 16th November a distinguished local author Sarah Quail will talk on the fight for the vote in Portsmouth . We hope to see as many of you as possible at both these events.

ANNUAL HOLIDAY

There are 24 members signed up for the holiday in Bologna from the 18th to the 22nd September.

FERRAGOSTO

Our annual get together took place on 11th August notwithstanding the weather, at the Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

A presto
