Dear SAIS Members and Friends

The Annual General meeting for the SAIS will be held on 17th October, by Zoom and a note of the relevant link will be sent out to the members prior to the meeting. We are sorry to report that this AGM will be the last for the Solent Anglo Italian Society, as we are looking to wind up the SAIS within the next year.

Over the past few years, as we have lost committee members, we have found it more and more difficult to find volunteers willing to take their place. Accordingly, we were finding that the Society business was taking up more and more of our time. Added to which we are seeing a gradual reduction in the number of members. This has not been an easy decision for any of us and although all on the committee have announced that we would be resigning, we will stay in order to wind up the affairs of the Society.

Until such time as the Society is formally wound up, anyone who is presently a member will continue to be a member, although naturally no subscriptions will be charged for this year.

This has not been an easy decision, but we felt it would be better to make a decision now and wind things down over the next few months. For example, we are planning a Christmas party and possibly a talk, a film and a guided walk over the next few months.  Also, if there are any interesting events happening, we will of course let you know.
